Healing 2 - The Great Exchange

In a typical children's hospital setting you might find the parents of a child battling a debilitating disease more than willing to take their child's place if they could. The agony of watching their child suffer can be unbearable, so they would do anything they could to rescue him.
Jesus did just that for us. He rescued us (ransomed us, paid the price for us) so we could have eternal life in heaven, but that is not the only benefit. He did it so we can also walk in perfect health. The word 'salvation' has its roots in the Greek word "soteria" or "sozo" which by definition means deliverance, healing, wholeness and preservation, so health and healing belong to us just as much as the forgiveness of sins! We are just as healed as we are saved!

The prophet Isaiah foretold the plan of God relative to healing in Chapter 53 verse 4 when he said, "Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains..." He said this literally thousands of years before Jesus actually paid the price, and this plan was confirmed in Matthew 8:17: "And thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases". -Amplified
So, if  we can believe we can be born again just by believing the Word, we can also be healed just by believing the Word. Jesus went to the cross and paid the price, took a beating for us and died in our place so we won't have to suffer sickness. Redemption is exchange----Jesus made the Great Exchange for us.

That's good news!

  1. Amen and Hallelujah!
Thank you for this Word of confirmation and encouragement Treva. I Believe in God's Word! I Believe I am Healed! I Believe that Jesus did this for me and He'll do it for others as well! I will not allow the enemy to steal that thought from me because he has already been defeated in the name of Jesus. Matthew 8:17 says the Word has already been fulfilled and I receive that!
